Here come the longdogs….

I’ve been playing with the idea of illustrating a close friends dog, he’s our dogs best buddy and his name certainly isn’t princess but he acts like it! I quite like the idea of him as a recurring character… let’s see where it goes.

Oh prints coming soon!

Couple of long dogs..

I’ve got really close friends with dachshunds and they are all full of character. I had a couple of ideas for the composition and pose which are below but I’ve also go a few more in the pipe line. I think proportionally they are really interesting and I enjoy experimenting with that.

Cats of all shapes and sizes

This was a bit of an experiment for me, started with some very loose sketches which were hand coloured with watercolour pencils. I liked the cats individually and had planned to do a collage group shot but I couldn’t work out the composition so I decided to work on them all individually using adobe draw.

Very happy with the out come and they have all be well received, thinking about making them into a print series 🙂

Colour and character

I feel like I finally pushed outside my comfort zone with this illustration, it was totally off the cuff. As the doodle developed I was thinking Big Bang theory or any member of Weezer during the early 2000’s, and then I wimped out a bit when I got to he jumped. I was very conscious of trying a new colour scheme which I’m really happy with, I think I have a long way to go with my painting technique but I’m never going to get there if I don’t paint!
