I’ve had an evening of creatively playing with multiple media’s, starting with a pencil sketch then to paint and on to my comfort zone of digital again. I’m still interested in developing my skills and understanding of form and shape. This is a total free style and it’s certainly where I’m most comfortable!
In this update I discuss the final stages of my illustration and some of the workflows I’ve used to create it.
I feel very late to the game but luckily I stumbled upon a very informative blog post detailing the pen tools use, this was my first attempt and I wasn’t really following any kind of pattern just doodling and letting the image unfold. I will be making this part of my workflow.
I’ve finally completed the first of a few home projects to get the creative juices flowing again. It’s been a funny journey and I’ve enjoyed looking back at old techniques and trying to rethink and combine them with where my head is currently at.
The art work is by no means perfect but I’ve really had fun.
While i’m working on the illustration from my previous videos i thought i’d share some of my colouring techniques, hopefully you will find it interesting!
So still a little bit of an experiment but i now have my own youtube channel, the plan is to update it as frequently as possible while trying to develop self described projects and in turn progress my illustrations. Video below and please subscribe to the channel.
Following on from my YouTube post yesterday, I’ve started inking today and will update my channel later tonight. For anyone interested in my YouTube channel please click Here
So, it’s been back to the usual absence of art work. I’ve been distracted with other artistic and work commitments which has blocked up any creative juices that I managed to get flowing. So for the first time in weeks I’ve managed to sit down and sketch this guy. Trying to plan out some projects for the year just to give me something to aim for.
